I'm Shea Wilkinson from Omaha, NE and I've been a sewer of clothes, quilts, and dolls since I was a child. Only recently, beginning in 2011, have I learned the techniques of free motion quilting, and it has changed my life!
I quilt on a basic domestic machine and all of my art is quilted with a darning foot, allowing me to manually shift the quilt around, creating all of the designs using only my hands, feet, and imagination.
Mountains To Mountains
Thank you to Kimberly Curry for donating so many beautiful earrings to Artists For Hope. This is only a sample of some of the earrings donated. They are all so pretty! We will be listing some online and also selling them in a big gallery show we have coming up (more info to come soon. We are beyond excited about this!) Kimberly works with Mountains to Mountains and they are doing so much to help in Haiti. They are a ministry of service and friendship from the mountains of West Virginia to the mountains of Haiti. Thanks for helping ...
Andie Eggimann
We are really excited to have some new artists! Meet Andie Eggimann from Minneapolis, MN. Art has been a love of mine from a young age. I want my art to be not only an outworking of my own faith but an encouragement to others to see the beauty of Christ. Also, it is fulfilling for ...
Marnie Scott
Marnie Scott and her two adorable children are helping feed kids in Haiti this year through their donations for our Open House. This is the time of year that I wish everyone lived in Omaha and could come see all of the amazing things we have for sale. It really is something. Not only did Marnie paint and donate this amazing antique window ... ... she also sent some of the products from her line of natural lip and body balms that I can say from experience are SO great. If you visit her website you will see how many fun and wonderful scents ...
Louisimise
Louisimise is one of the first people who started to work with Artists For Hope when we started the Art Co-op in Cazale. We asked for people who were interested in taking a class to learn how to make bracelets with recycled plastic shopping bags. She is one of my favorite people to see when I travel to Haiti. Lousimise is 31 years old. She has 6 children. She is illiterate and had nowhere to work and no possibilities until she started to work with Artists For Hope. Her house fell down in the earthquake and has now been fixed. We were ...
